Little Festival – Great Big Programme online

Check out our packed programme of around forty events and activities across the ten days of the festival. To see the full programme of events simply click ‘What’s On’ in the menu at the top of this page, and then click ‘Full programme’. At the end of the full programme you will find a handy two page summary of all the events.

Grab a printed programme

If you haven’t already got your own printed copy of the programme (superbly designed by Chris Liddiard) you can pick one up at the Rushlake Green Village Stores or find one at loads of other places in the surrounding areas including Heathfield, Horam and Hailsham.

Something for everyone

We’ve got: the Live Radio Play; Crafts in the Making, demonstrations by crafts people; Arts shows and classes, and Art in an Open Garden; Music concerts and recitals – from early music to 120 years of brass band history, hits of 1966 and a finale gig; Poetry Cafe and Literary Talk; and much much more.

Everyone involved is local

Amongst the local arts groups contributing activities and events to the festival are: the Village Players; the Warbleton Brass Band; Art on the Green; Pastores Ensemble, White Horse Folk Club, the Warbleton Community Choir, Sussex Harmony, Downland Poets, Warbleton History Group and many others including local photographers, poets, artists and musicians offering to run activities and shows.

Festival programme changes

Unfortunately, Jo Hudson has suffered an accident, causing damage to her left eye and therefore has reluctantly had to cancel her Watercolour Workshops scheduled for Tuesday 23rd.

First weekend a great success

The festival got off to a terrific start with a sensational interpretation by the Village Players of the radio play “welcome to our village – please invade carefully”. Other first weekend triumphs included the Crafts in the Making event at Bodle Street Green, the busking at the Village Stores, the ‘120 years of Brass’ concert, the Sussex Harmony concert and the Spanish Guitar recital by Peter Lay, Marian Parkyn’s open studio and the Horam Manor Arts and Crafts weekend.

People & Places . . . Past & Present

Our creative theme of ‘People & Places . . . Past & Present’ is about what inspires and interests us all. People we know, people from past generations and how they lived their lives. How the past informs our present day lives
